Lonza expands its Malic Acid production capacity in Italy
30.11.2005, Lonza Polymer Intermediates, a division of Lonza Group, has announced an expansion in production capacity for Malic Acid.
The production capacity of the Malic Acid plant in Scanzorosciate, Italy, will be increased from 8’000 tons/year to 12’000 tons/year. The expansion of the plant will be completed at the end of 2006.
The expansion is Lonza’s response to the increasing worldwide demand for Malic Acid, which is primarily used in the food and feed sectors. Lonza is a leading producer of Maleic Anhydride, the basic material for the production of Malic Acid.
